Follies, Garden, Lakes & Walks
Walled Garden
The Walled Garden has been restored to traditional 18th century formal design with wide perennial borders, box hedging, water features, ornamental herb and vegetable gardens.
Parkland walks and lake
Parkland walks linking the follies, pass through beech avenues and are interspersed with statuary, ornate bridges and gazebo seats. There are dramatic views across the lake to the Dublin Mountains. The flower and water meadows at the lake delight visitors of all ages with dragonflies, frogs and wildflowers. Many species of wild duck and swan inhabit the lake.
Foxes Earth 
According to folklore this was built by Mr Watson who leased Larchill in the 18th century. Having hunted too many foxes Mr Watson believed he was to be punished by being reincarnated as a fox. The Foxes Earth was to be refuge for his reincarnation and he banned fox hunting at Larchill forever
Gibraltar
A minature firtress and copy of a fortress on the Rock of Gibraltar. Mock naval battles were fought across the lake in the 18th century.
Shell Tower
It is said that Mrs Watson made the shell decorations and loved the tower so much that she was buried there. When new owners moved her to a church yard, she returned to haunt Larchill.
